No News is Good News
23rd January 2012

What a busy couple of weeks we have been having here at Van Man. You would have never thought it was the first few weeks in January.
We have been carrying out removals all over Devon and Cornwall and bar one quick run up to Cardiff have been working locally which is nice!
The unseasonably mild weather has made driving considerably easier last year and we are thinking the very expensive winter tyres that we bought for the vans may have been a bit over cautious.
We have taken delivery of our new brochure which we will be displaying at all the 4 Quickstore sites and some local estate agents ( but more on that later)
February is shaping up nicely with some great bookings and we really love having the 3 vans working now and taking on even more work.

10th January 2012

Well we have all three of our vans sign written now. Big thanks to Jerry at Touchwood Signs ( www.touchwoodsigns.co.uk ) who has done a great job on the last 2 vans.
We can’t wait to get cracking on all the jobs we have booked in for January and we have been really pleased with all the enquiries we have had this year already.
The new vans have made it possible for us to say our favourite words of “Yes we can” to a lot of our enquires and we are watching the orders come in! We also have the next part of our advertising campaign in the pipeline and should be completed in the near future.
All in all a very positive start to the new year.
And then there were 3

The newest addition to the Van Man fleet arrived this morning.
It's another brand new VW crafter. This is the extra long wheel base version so shall be even more fun to park at Tesco, but will give us even more floor space and volume.
The van has VW's new 2.0 litre engine which is a class leader in fuel consumption and emissions so we will be doing our bit for the environment. Watch this space for some other environmental initiatives we have up our sleeves.
Van Man is up to 3 full time vehicles now and with a great partnership with a local hire company we have the capacity to complete jobs of any size.
Keep an eye out for our vans and this new one will be sign-written by the end of the week.
If you do spot us give us a wave !!!
Windy New Year
3rd January 2012
Happy new year to our customers new and old.

It was great to have a break over the festive period but we have started 2012 with even more enthusiasm than last year. Much is planned for this year and we have been interviewing new staff and have new vehicles on order.
The first jobs of the new year were a bit of a shock with storm force winds hitting the UK.
Mike had the unenviable task of driving right across the UK from North Devon to the East of Essex. We did get the job completed without delay but it took some pretty cautious driving. However no matter how careful you are, nature can be relentless as this truck driver found out on the M5 just south of Burnham on Sea. We were only about 1 minute behind him and my passenger took this snap.
Luckily no one was hurt.
December - A Mugs Game
As another year draws to an end Van Man Exeter are bucking the trend and have a really positive outlook for the new year.
There is lots coming up for Van Man this coming year so watch this space. As the business goes from strength to strength we have invested in some little than
k you’s for our customers in 2012.
We have had a range of Mugs, Pens, Key rings and Notepads designed and prepared by the amazing George at Home baked productions and we will be dishing these out to our customers.
With bookings coming in thick and fast we can’t wait to get back into the swing of things in the new year. (Not that were having much time off for the festivities).
We would also like to take this opportunity to thanks all of our customers from 2011 for their support and wish all our customers, followers and friends a great Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year !
Mike and Phil
December - A new Man
Welcome to the Van Man Blog. This is where you can keep up to date with all the latest news from Van Man – and the occasional witty comment!

Van Man Exeter is pleased and excited to announce that a new business partner will be onboard as of the start of 2012.
Phil Smith who has been running his own business from Crediton will be joining forces with Mike from Van Man to help drive the business forward in the new year.
Phil has been working with van Man for the last few months to get a feel for the business and see how we do things and will now take on a role promoting and managing the contract side of the business including our increasing share of the local courier and light haulage market.
Phil is a great spokesman for the business and full of energy and enthusiasm. Phil has spent 23 years working as a fire-fighter, and officer at Devon & Somerset fire & rescue service, which he still serves today at Crediton.
If you would like to speak to Phil regards business contracts feel free to give him a call on – 07702 281 210 or email him at phil@vanmanexeter.co.uk
December - Shoeboxes galore!
Did you know Van Man works with a number of local charities? Devon Air Ambulance and Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) are among our clients.

But this month, as it’s nearly Christmas, we wanted to give something extra to one particular charity, as a gift from us. So Phil and I got in touch with Operation Christmas Child, which sends shoeboxes of presents donated by local people to less fortunate children around the world.
We moved 3200 shoeboxes (in bigger boxes, not one by one!) from the charity’s depot in Plymouth to their Exeter base. I was amazed by the number of volunteers helping so cheerfully, and by the number of boxes local people have donated – you’re a generous bunch!
We heard this week that all the presents are now safely on their way to the children, and our particular batch is heading to Romania as I write.
It was a genuine pleasure to help this great charity and we’re already signed up to do the same next year.
Mike
Mike and his colleague recently helped us move from Exeter to Bristol. From the outset Mike's communication and friendly approach was fantastic, and definitely helped us feel a little less worried during what is always a stressful time. The guys arrived right on time. We got stuck in, and were left at our destination with everything unloaded 3 hours later! The price was also incredibly competitive. VanManExeter provide an exceptional service, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering using them.

Michael’s service was excellent. He quoted promptly, and then arrived and re-delivered as requested on time! He was courteous and friendly at all times. I would have no hesitation in using him again or recommending him to my friends.
